Why we exist
Most cooking problems aren't about skill. They're about numbers: a recipe written for 4 when you're feeding 10, a British cake recipe in grams when you own measuring cups, a sourdough formula that assumes you know what "75% hydration" means. KitchenArithmetic turns those numbers into quick, clear answers so you can get back to cooking.
How we build our tools
- Weight first. Every calculation starts from grams, the way professional bakers work, then converts to cups and spoons accurately for each ingredient.
- Sourced numbers. Ingredient weights and ratios come from widely used baking and coffee references, cross-checked and rounded for practical use.
- Assumptions stated. Where an answer depends on a choice (spooned or scooped flour, fan or conventional oven), we say which one we used.
- Private by design. Every tool runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.
How we make money
KitchenArithmetic is free and supported by display advertising and affiliate links. When we recommend equipment, like a kitchen scale, we may earn a small commission if you buy through our link, at no extra cost to you. We only recommend types of gear we'd tell a friend to buy.
